- Most famous search engine.
Probably the engine everybody goes to first, but not necessarily the easiest,

- Search for favourites.
Loads of sections to choose from here. Clear where to go if you know what you want.
Lycos
- Find that elusive site.
Full of sections, links and special sites to ensure you find what you want.
Looksmart

Alta Vista
- UK version of US search.
Can be good for certain aspects (e.g. finding pictures) but tends to throw out a lot of US sites which doesn't help if you are trying to narrow things down.
Search UK
- Find UK sites.
Not immediately eye-catching and a bit skeletal looking, but takes you where you want to go eventually.
Euroseek
- European info sites.
Easy to see the section you want, well laid out.
Ukonline
- Search UK sites for the one you want.
Layout is not spectacular, and links are not that obvious, and there is no search option.
